In the period from January 3 to January 6, 2023, training sessions of the Vacation Courses were held at the NIS PM in Kokshetau in the subjects “Kazakh”, “Kazakh language and literature”, “Russian”, “Russian language and literature”, “English”, “Mathematics”, “Natural Science” in the 6th grades.
The main task of the Vacational Courses is to organize classes and consultations for students on specialized subjects of the Intellectual Schools.
3 groups were formed: 2 with the Kazakh language of instruction and 1 with the Russian language of instruction. In the Vacation Courses were trained students who came from «Zeleny Bor», «Shiyaly», «Imantau» villages of the Akmola region, the nearby «Saumalkol» village of the North Kazakhstan region, from city schools and students of the NIS PM in Kokshetau, who successfully completed the tasks of the Virtual schools. A total of 48 students took part.
The content of the training sessions on the subjects includes topics that cause the greatest difficulties. For example, topics in natural science: “Scale”, “Regions with high and low population density”, “Atoms and molecules, simple and complex substances”, “Types and sources of energy”, “Relativity of motion”, in mathematics: “Linear equations with one variable”, “Linear inequalities with one variable”, “Solving geometric problems”, and the main problem is defined in language subjects – reading literacy, weak vocabulary.
The Vocational Courses gave students the opportunity to work out the skills of completing tasks in subjects, students got acquainted with the specifications of tests in mathematics and quantitative characteristics.
The most effective were the classes in which the mutual training of students took place. During the training sessions, not only the teachers, but also the students themselves, provided each other with feedback, during which the dynamics of the tasks were observed. Students individually, in pairs and groups practiced their skills, and also learned how to use rationally the time allotted for completing tasks.
