An international format of debate MUN 2021 took place in NIS Kokshetau, on the 9th of December. The motion, which was discussed by the 11th grade students, was related to the topic of ‘European Migration Crisis’. The simulation of the UN debate developed leadership skills and gave the students an opportunity to think outside the box. Prior to the debate, NIS students carried out consistent research on the global problem and then presented the findings to their peers. The students shared their perspectives on the discussed topic and, more importantly, suggested viable solutions to the issue of migrants. The intellectual activity raised students’ awareness of the researched problem and allowed MUN participants to look at the migration issue from different perspectives.
