Action research an interactive method of collecting information

In the framework of the project Action research the school conducts various activities aimed at disseminating the idea of a disciplined process of inquiry conducted by and for those taking the action and involving their practice in the process of research. Coaching one way to raise awareness and support a student in achieving a specific personal or professional goal. Thus, being a mentor of group of curators I conduct trainings, coaching and render individual assistance. In November 2016 I conducted the coaching “Data analysis: triangulation, coding, interpretation” aimed at studying the concepts that are the basis for running action research. Listeners determined the importance of triangulation and data coding, and were able to distinguish the stages of data analysis. The most challenging for mentees was identifying an algorithm of actions to conduct data analysis that can be explained by the lack of their experience in data analysis.  Nonetheless, in the course of the discussion mentees came to the fact that they are quite skillful in collection and analysis of quantitative data.

The logical conclusion of this the training was conceptual understanding of scientific terms as a micro- and macro analysis, content analysis and triangulation, and also that there are no common ways to organize, analyze and interpret qualitative data because of different approach to the performance of intellectual work.
