100 Books
The “100 Books” recommended for students of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools aims to support trilingual learning in history, culture, and its people, and to teach tolerance of other cultures through reading literature in Kazakh, Russian and English languages.
The goal of this project is to instill a love of books and reading on various topics. AEO Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools compiled a list of 100 books for recommended reading for students of Nazarbayev Intellectual schools. These 100 books that have been recommended include 60 well-known works and classics of Kazakh literature and 40 masterpieces of world literature.
For this project, students will create electronic books. Students are encouraged to prepare drawings and illustrations based on the works they have read. For some short stories, students will make audio books which can be accessed electronically at: www.iKitap.kz. Each piece will be read in the original language. As part of the “100 Books” project, students learn the program, iBooks Author, and learn to create their own e-books.
